Overview

Found throughout the world, ikat textiles are prized for their handcrafted warmth and unique beauty. Our rug's design is inspired by an Indian ikat depicted in a sixth-century fresco on the wall of the Ajanta caves, an ancient Buddhist monastery. Artisans at one of the world's oldest handwoven rug makers have translated the graceful design into hand-knotted, yarn-dyed wool. * Hand knotted from yarn-dyed wool for softness and enduring color. * Sheared to a dense, low pile (45 knots per sq. inch). * Finished with fringe on two ends. * We recommend our Heavyweight Rug Pad with this style; our latex-backed pad (sold separately) can be trimmed to fit exact rug dimensions. * Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, all sizes and colors may vary. * Made in India.
