The average timeline for a single room Modsy Renovation Design service project is about 5-6 weeks from beginning (kickoff call) to end (design finalization). Project timelines will vary depending on your project’s scale, complexity and communication preferences.

Actual construction timelines will vary as well and you will need to work with a contractor, builder or other professional to estimate this phase of your project. 

You will receive the following deliverables after you finalize your Renovation Design service. 

• 3D renderings of your fully renovated and designed room.
• An immersive 3D virtual tour of your fully renovated and designed room.
• Shoppable designs in your Modsy studio that will allow you to purchase furniture and decor items from your design in one easy checkout.
• A shopping list with materials, fixtures, finishes, and equipment. These items may not all be for sale directly through Modsy, but we will point you to the retailer or vendor that they can be purchased from.

While the Modsy Renovation Design service aims to create a complete design concept for your home based on your vision, your contractors, builders, or other professionals may need to adjust elements of the design or selections during construction.

Our renovation designers are our most experienced designers. Their qualifications include:

• Accredited professionals with renovation certifications and/or Interior Design degrees, such as AKBD (Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer), CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer), and CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer).
• On average 5+ years renovation design experience from concept to installation.
• Experience with industry grade design software.
• Expert product knowledge in materials, fixtures, finishes, and equipment selections for home projects.

We will match you with one of our qualified, expert designers depending on your project size and their availability. All of our renovation designers have years of prior renovation experience from concept to installation before working for Modsy. They are trained to create the vision you want for your home.  If you are a returning Renovation Design customer, we will pair you with the same designer whenever possible. 

We believe seeing is believing! Modsy Renovation Design service offers unlimited revisions for 3D designs until you are 100% happy with your design.  A full 3D virtual tour is produced twice during your design experience, once alongside your initial designs and a second time after your 3D designs are finalized.

No. While we’re thrilled to help you create and visualize your design, Modsy does not oversee the installation or offer construction solutions at this time. We are happy to refer you to our partner ANGI Managed Services to help you find the right professionals for the construction phase.

Yes. It’s important to validate with a professional before the design finalization and you will need to work with a professional to create construction grade documentation. Your contractors, builders, or other professionals may adjust the design during construction but having the Modsy design to refer to will ensure that they understand and adjust to achieve the vision.

Modsy’s Renovation Design service offers unlimited revisions for 3D designs until you are 100% happy with your design. Our expert designers strive to create the design you love, not just what they like. We guarantee you’ll love your design or your money back!  

The minimum requirements for an existing home are a floor plan with measurements and photographs.  Unfortunately we do not have an on site measurement service at this time.

Yes! Your designer will help you make decisions on every last detail for your space including sourcing products or helping you choose between a few options you’re already considering. Although you won’t be able to purchase every fixture, finish, and appliance directly through Modsy at this time, your designer will provide you with a complete list of the items used in your designs to make it easy for you to find and buy them yourself or through your contractor’s preferred vendors.

Yes! The furniture and decor in your designs are available to shop directly through Modsy. Some of the fixtures will also be available to purchase, and we’re working hard to expand this selection to include additional appliances, fixtures, and materials (like tile and flooring) to be available for purchase through Modsy directly as well. As part of your project you’ll receive a list of all of the materials, fixtures, finishes, and equipment in your designs to make it easier for you to source the items not available to purchase through Modsy.

Our preferred vendors are Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, Wayfair, Floor & Decor, Pro Source, Clé, Tile Bar, Tile Shop, and Build.com who sell some of our designer’s favorite brands including Kohler, Delta, Pella, Andersen, Silestone, Cosentino, Cambria, Jeld-Wen, Subzero, Wolfe, and Cafe.

If you want to work with a particular brand, our designers will be happy to accomodate and they will provide recommendations for the style and finish based on the brand’s catalog. 

Design anywhere from one room all the way up to an entire home. 

Your designer will review your project needs during the kickoff video call and provide recommendations if you need to make any adjustments to your package

Modsy’s Outdoor Design package is available upon request after you purchase a Renovation Design package. It can be a total make-over including the design and selection of finishes and fixtures for outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, entertainment areas, structural add-ons, and decks. It doesn’t include home exterior changes, pool design or landscaping. Virtual Tour is included in the Outdoor Design package.

Yes. If you are interested in working with the same renovation designer for your non-renovation rooms, an additional package is available upon request after you purchase a Renovation Design package. Virtual Tour will be included for the non-renovation rooms.

You will receive an order summary email to confirm your purchase. A welcome email will follow and include a list of items to help prepare for your first kickoff video call with your designer as well as instructions for scheduling your initial kickoff call.
